In June 2025, the furniture industry witnessed a series of significant events.
On the sales front, the retail data showed positive trends. In May, the total retail sales of furniture products in China reached 17 billion yuan, a year – on – year increase of 25.6%. The cumulative retail sales of furniture from January to May were 75.7 billion yuan, with a year – on – year increase of 21.4%.
In terms of corporate strategies, American bedding brand King Koil is set to launch a new retail design concept exhibition to strengthen its terminal retail business. British home fashion giant NEXT raised its annual earnings forecast due to strong performance. Meanwhile, Eupai introduced a “Friday half – day work system”, a novel approach in the industry.
There were also important exhibitions. The 25th Chengdu Furniture Exhibition opened, which is bound to promote exchanges and cooperation in the furniture industry.
However, there were challenges too. The US furniture market continued to decline, with new orders in April dropping by 19% and shipments by 28%. From January to May, the furniture manufacturing industry showed three consecutive declines.
In product – related news, Wolfa launched an anti – counterfeiting system for its boards, bringing innovation to the industry. Due to fire risks, Tempur recalled travel pillows sold in the UK.
In the procurement area, there were multiple furniture procurement projects completed in June, such as the furniture procurement for a public health medical center and an office furniture procurement contract.
In the international market, Madison Liquidators in the US added the Conversa series of high – end commercial office furniture from KFI Studio to its product portfolio, offering more choices for different business spaces.
